FTA Award 2014
The FTA Award (Excellence in Flexography Awards) is one of the most important awards for flexo printing in the USA. The 33-strong jury met in January 2014 to evaluate the entries. Range, ink coverage, sharpness and many other criteria were evaluated. The awards were presented on April 27, 2014.
Among the numerous entries Wellpappe Auerswald KG received a silver and gold award. Submissions were made under the category “Combined Corrugated, Process”. Plant Manager Bernhard Schinner commented: “We are pleased to have successfully participated in the FTA Awards for several years. In some areas of flexo printing, we have reached a level of quality which can keep up with large-format sheetfed offset”.
POPAI Award 2014
Gold blessing for display manufacturers
On 19.05.2014 the gala for the award ceremony of the POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International) Awards took place in Düsseldorf. Lichtenau Display KG took home two awards. In the categories “Travel, Leisure and Automotive” and “Short Runs and Flagship Stores”.
The POPAI jury had the following to say about the battery-shaped counter display: “Product-oriented design with an original and attractive appearance. Good product recognition value with functional handling”. In the “Short Runs and Flagship Stores” category, the display manufacturer was awarded a special gold prize. The special prize was awarded for the cardboard pavilion installed at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2013 for the host country Brazil..
Gold for high-quality-flexo
The display “Creamy Cheese Delight” by Milkana made waves at the FlexoTech International Print Award 2014 in the “Corrugated Cardboard Post Print (E and F flute)” category. The award ceremony was held in London on October 23, 2014. The jury awarded the print with a gold award.
Whitmar Publications from Great Britain organised the award. The publishing house publishes the trade journals Digital Printer, FlexoTech, Digital Labels & Packaging. The FlexoTech International Print Award is one of the most prestigious international events, it is sponsored by leading companies in the industry. The jury considers the degree of difficulty as well as the print quality of the entries.
For Wellpappe Auerswalde KG, this is already the third award in flexo printing this year. At the FTA Awards (Flexographic Technical Association Awards) in April, the packaging manufacturer’s entries received a silver and a gold award.
