Awards 2017

World Star Award 2017
Third award in a row!

The 97th World Packaging Organization Board meeting took place in Vienna on November 14, 2016. The jury judged numerous entries from 35 countries for the “World Star Award 2017” in this period. Among the international prize winners is Schiettinger KG, the main Göppingen plant of the Schiettinger Group.

The company was successful with the “Beam-Box” sales packaging, which was awarded the “German Packaging Award” back in 2015 and the “Pro Carton Sustainability Award” in 2016. The jury was impressed by the high recognition effect of the triangular-shaped packaging. The triangular packaging perfectly picks suits the Varta logo and thus contributes to the quick recognition of the brand at POS.

The “World Star Award” is presented annually by the WPO-World Packaging Organization. The WPO consists of packaging institutes, associations and federations and is a non-profit organisation. The award ceremony took place during “Interpack” in May 2017 in Düsseldorf.

EFIA Award 2017
Award for high-quality-flexo

March 2017, the annual EFIA (European Flexographic Industry Association) Award ceremony took place during the Gala Dinner at the Birmingham NEC. Wellpappe Auerswalde KG won a gold award.

In the race for the coveted prizes, the printed image of the packaging manufacturer “Marshmallow Farm” took the top spot in the “Corrugated – International” category. Thanks to the finest screening in high-quality-flexo printing, results like these are feasible and the smallest details are visible. The jury liked the result and rewarded the commitment with a gold award.

FTA Award 2017
Second award for high-quality-flexo

The FTA Award (Excellence in Flexography Awards) is one of the most important awards for flexo printing in the USA. Range, ink coverage, sharpness and many other criteria were evaluated. The awards were presented in May 2017.

Among the numerous entries, Wellpappe Auerswald KG received a bronze award. Submissions were made under the category “Combined Corrugated, Process”. The jury commented: “A clean print image with excellent colour separation. Great capture of all six colours and all graphics cleanly executed.”
