Conserving resources and reducing emissions are extensive and ongoing processes. Companies that want to have products and processes evaluated for their climate friendliness have different options.

In the factory Brand/Opf. TÜV Süd was commissioned as an independent verification body for verification in the areas of greenhouse gas balance and product carbon footprint. This ensured the transparent auditing of the 2018, 2019 and 2020 financial years. The voluntary test by the accredited test centre covered several areas of application.
The underlying systems and data were verified, and processes recorded and analysed. The analysis included greenhouse gas emissions as well as the established ISO 50001 energy management and ISO 14001 environmental management certifications. Material savings are valuable for the conservation of resources and are practiced, for example, in the optimum use of printed sheets. The ISO standards ISO 14064 and ISO 14067 provide the right basis for verification. In addition to existing measures to reduce emissions, another offsetting measure has been introduced at the Brand site; forest properties owned by the company not only serve to reduce greenhouse gases, but also to protect regional forest stocks, which are also managed in a sustainable and natural way.

An annual repetition of this voluntary verification is planned so that CO2 optimised packaging can be continuously produced at the Brand site.
