Major investment programmes running through to 2021 are planned for the two factories Wellpappe Auerswalde KG and Lichtenau Display KG. Both factories are to be developed and extended to accommodate new warehousing space, and production buildings and facilities.
Minister President of Saxony Michael Kretschmer and State Secretary of the Federal Interior Ministry Marco Wanderwitz visited Auerswalde with a delegation from the CDU party on 22 October 2018. The visitors were given the chance to visualise the plans during a factory tour. It soon became clear that packaging made from cardboard and corrugated board is continuing to become more important in the light of global warming. “We want to replace plastic packaging which is not easy to recycle with paper-based packaging that can be recycled,” explains Factory Manager Bernhard Schinner.
This is why new facilities with administration offices, communal spaces and a new warehouse are in the pipeline. It is anticipated that the foundation stone for the building project will be laid in the spring of 2019.
